There has been some fantastic news here in recent weeks and I'm delighted to finally be able to share these things with you.
This summer is going to be great, as some of you may know at this stage Critical Bands has been selected for performance at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. I can now confirm that the performance will take place on Wednesday June 21st from 1-2pm at Abrons Art Centre, Playhouse (lower east side).
My latest fixed media work Track will receive its world premiere at the Sound Travels event, which is taking place during the Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium. While the concert date is yet to be confirmed, I can tell you that the entire event will be running from August 9-12 in Toronto's Distillery District.
Among a very large list of entries, my submission of Swarm (fixed media) was nominated by the judging panel for inclusion in the SIME international electroacoustic music week in Lille, France. It didn't make the top 6 that were chosen for the event but, having seen the list of entries from composers around the world, it really is an honour to have made the shortlist.
Finally, I am delighted to announce that my paper Employing the Listener: Investigating a Psychacoustical Approach to Sound Art Composition has been selected for presentation at the Sounding Out the Space conference at Dublin Institute of Technology. The presentation date is to be confirmed and this great event will take place between November 2-4.
I'll be in touch with soon with confirmation of dates, locations, etc for these events and hopefully with some more good news in the coming weeks.
